Red Light Tickets

A Red Light Camera Ticket will usually be received in the mail.  These citations are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle which was caught in the intersection during a red light.  Usually since there is no way to prove who is driving the vehicle, the State takes the stance that it is the registered owner’s vehicle which is causing the dangerous condition to others, not necessarily the driver.

Although there are no points assigned to this violation, it does come with a fine.  If this fine is not paid in a timely manner, the issuing jurisdiction will issue a warrant for your arrest and some utilize a collection agency to collect on the fine and the warrant cost.
